Blink Nation

Category: Let's talk

Post 1 by Rubber Duck (Zone BBS Addict) on Wednesday, 23-Jun-2010 22:16:18

Hi all, just wanted to let any Blinknation users who are interested know that there is a site where we can get together, it's not Blinknation, but a place where we can get back together and post blogs and get our members back together again.
Hopefully we will also have a chat roomsoon so we can start chatting with eachother.
If anyone is interested you can send me a PM, or just leave a comment on this post and I will send you the information you need to join the site. We have a few members from Blink already, and are hoping to hear from more of you.
Thanks so much,
Tim...

Just tell the "blinkies" to join the zone. Can you say monopoly? Lol.

Post 6 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Thursday, 24-Jun-2010 18:27:09

Shake and pay ten times the amount thrown. Only if it's a utility monopoly I guess

Blogspot is a blogging site, how can you build a site with it? Not criticizing, just asking. Monopoly? Hardly. This site is simply unique and has a unique set of features which obviously cater to a nitch. Here we go again with other sites trashing the zone, mainly because their jealous. It's not our fault that you can't do something new. Believe me, if you could, and it was cool, I'd be there too.

Post 10 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Friday, 25-Jun-2010 14:06:01

I wasn't trashing the zone, I was joking. I didn't like what I saw on that blink nation thing.

Post 11 by Rubber Duck (Zone BBS Addict) on Friday, 25-Jun-2010 20:08:31

It's a place where we can get together, and find old friends again, not meant to be a full blown site, we are gaining more members every day, it's great! Oh, and nothing against the zone at all, everyone has their own preferences, that's what makes life interesting, lol! Live and let live and all that.

Post 12 by margorp (I've got the gold prolific poster award, now is there a gold cup for me?) on Saturday, 26-Jun-2010 10:52:47

Yeah but I guess I don't see the point of what you are trying to do.

Post 13 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Saturday, 26-Jun-2010 13:49:49

I believe the point has been stated. It's to get the Blink Nation members together until the site gets back up again. Hopefully, we get some progress of what's going on.

I need to see what all the buzz is about! Should give it more of a chance.

purple penguin, you are very wise! lol!

Post 16 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Monday, 28-Jun-2010 9:35:06

Yeah. Because some people just don't like the Zone, whatever their reason. That's why the Blinkers want this temporary haven until the site gets back up.

Seems like it.

Post 18 by Rubber Duck (Zone BBS Addict) on Tuesday, 29-Jun-2010 20:41:53

And some people like both, not sure if that's allowed, lol!

Hmmmmmmmmmmm.... I didn't like it when I took a look.

Post 21 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Wednesday, 07-Jul-2010 21:43:46

I actually found Blinknation to be a lot less...I don't know...cluttered?

Post 22 by Twighlight Fan (Account disabled) on Friday, 09-Jul-2010 3:25:43

Yeah, tell them about the zone.

Post 23 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Friday, 09-Jul-2010 13:18:04

I'm sure they knew about it and that many of them preferred Blinknation for various reasons. I certainly did.

Post 24 by Senior (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Saturday, 10-Jul-2010 16:54:04

They were all moaning about all the problems they have because they're blind last time I checked it and because i'm not as passionate about blindness and the attitudes of sighted people I didn't join.

Post 25 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Saturday, 10-Jul-2010 22:56:48

When I looked at it, I saw it wasn't cluttered, kinda like a blank piece of paper.
But I concur on the blind vs. sighted thing, I find that whole thing silly.

Post 26 by Senior (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Sunday, 11-Jul-2010 11:55:00

this post (opens in new window) on the Blink Nation blog suggests the blog isn't working the way they had hoped. They had hoped the blog would be used as the website was, but that isn't happening. Instead, it is being used like a blog.

The chat doesn't appear to be taking off either, but some people may think it isn't easy to use, and it's open all the time instead of at selected times which the users know about.

So basically Blink Nation is down, and the amount of people who actively use the replacement sites is down on the amount of people who used Blink Nation. The replacement sites don't have the feel of BlinkNation, because users see blogs as blogs and chatrooms as chatrooms. They aren't like Blink Nation, so they're not being used like Blink Nation.

Blink Nation may be dying a slow death, without a dog to guide it to recovery.

Okay, now I'm actually curious!
